Luigi Gets a Nice Tribute

Games Radar’s potted history is a fine read

With New Super Mario Bros. Wii undoubtedly getting a lot of play this weekend, the timing couldn’t be better for a comprehensive biography of Mario’s less famous brother.

Games Radar editor Henry Gilbert has put a lot of love into his article Luigi: A Life in the Shadows, and I really enjoyed reading it. Entertaining and educational, it’s a perfect palate refresher for those times when you’ve died eight times on one level and should maybe just step away from the Wii for a bit.

My favourite line from the article?

“Chew on this: Mario and Luigi are known as the Mario Bros. This would mean that their last names are Mario, making them Luigi Mario and Mario Mario. Luigi can evidently never be free of his twin, not even when signing his name.”
