Spotify now on Symbian

Music app adds Nokia and others to its portfolio

Hey Symbian owners! Tired of your Android-and-iPhone owning buddies constantly waving their Spotify apps in your face for the past few months? Well fret no more, as the streaming music phenomenon has finally launched an application for Symbian-enabled Nokia, Sony Ericsson, and Samsung handsets.

The Symbian Spotify service can be downloaded from m.spotify.com, and as with the iPhone and Android versions requires you to have a premium Spotify subscription to use it. It comes with the same cache memory as other mobile versions, meaning that poor-reception areas won’t interrupt your listening, and can run quite happily in the background while you use your phone’s other functions.

Electricpig has a full list of the phones that will support the app, which we’ve shamelessly cut-and-pasted:

Nokia 5230; Nokia 5320 XpressMusic; Nokia 5530 XpressMusic; Nokia 5630 XpressMusic; Nokia 5800 XpressMusic; Nokia 6120 Classic; Nokia 6220 Classic; Nokia 6710 Navigator; Nokia 6720 Classic; Nokia 6730 Classic; Nokia E51; Nokia E52; Nokia E63; Nokia E66; Nokia E71; Nokia E75; Nokia N78; Nokia N85; Nokia N86 8MP; Nokia N95; Nokia N95 8GB; Nokia N96; Nokia N97; Nokia N97 mini; Samsung i8910 Omnia HD; Sony Ericsson Satio.
