Nutter Weds Nintendo Lover

A Japanese gamer has tied the knot with his bride at a technology festival in Tokyo.

Oh and the woman is virtual, doesn’t exist and resides within a Nintendo DS in game Love Plus.

The groom, known only by his username Sal9000, last week became the first person to officially pledge his love and devotion to a mishmash of pixels at the ceremony overseen by a real-life priest.

The bride, named Nene Anegasaki is one of three cartoon style anime-looking women from the dating simulation game.

The happiest day of (at least one of) their lives was witnessed by dozens of game fans at the Tokyo convention.

Although the ‘wedding’ is not legally binding, Love Plus forums are awash with rumours that Sal9000 and Nene have married in the Pacific Ocean island of Guam where marriage laws are less strict.

But even if they’re less strict, they’re not stupid.

A marriage with no sex? where’s the fun in that?

That’s marriage. :)
