Next Gen of Wii Peripherals
One of them is a bike which will save the planet
You thought your house was cluttered enough with peripheral computer game extensions but soon you’ll be overrun with even more Nintendo Wii accessories as the next lot of bigger, brasher peripherals come to the fore.
This isn’t a stool sized Balance Board, a tennis racquet or a steering wheel, no – have a look at these two titles from Big Ben Interactive.
Cyberbike, available in January, comes with a full blown exercise bike peripheral. It has been created as a fitness product for all the family along the lines of Wii Sports and Wii Fit.
Players use the bike – fully customisable for anyone to use – to control a selection of on screen vehicles including submarines, helicopters and mine carts around the game world.
The game invites you to don your eco-head and use the bike to clean up paths and roads and sources of pollution on improbable land, sea and air vehicles
The game has 18 different circuits a fitness mode and multiplayer, plenty of locked content and the ability for seasoned pros to advance and customise their trusty vehicles.
The second title is My Body Coach, is endorsed by professional trainer to the stars Valarie Orsoni and comes with two 500g dumbbell peripherals which each house a Wiimote.
My Body Coach provides the gamer with a personal programme adapted to age, sex, weight and physical condition.
To complement one’s sporting activities, Valarie will be on hand to provide advice on nutrition including suggestions for meals and snacks.
Sessions are anywhere from seven minutes to an hour long, warm up and stretching included and over 200 different movements are recorded by the Wiimote and fed back to your trainer.
