I played the trial but it didn’t quite grab me…. I was a huge fan of Super G&G and didn’t quite feel it from the trial, perhaps its worth buying the full thing and giving it a second chance?

PC Demo of Trine downloaded, time to give it a go!

Braid was superb. I actually prefer this though, a lot more action oriented – and heavily reminiscent of classics like Ghosts and Goblins or even Klonoa. The co-op mode is silky smooth and in some ways could offer a bit of an unfair advantage over single player (swapping between characters can be a bit troublesome in tricky situations).

Either way, it’s worth trying the demo definitely – and here’s hoping that this isn’t stuck in Sony / MS Approval hell for too long, and makes it to the PSN Store / Marketplace pretty soon.

Ben, did you play Braid on XBLA? It’s a pretty imaginative approach to 2D platforming…and perhaps tellingly, it’s from an indie developer.

Will be downloading that demo, I personally think there hasn’t been any worthwhile platform games for a long time, Developers seem to be very shallow in the thought that a game has to be “full” 3D rather than a 2D environment brought into the 21st century with a 3D finish.
