Star Wars – The Force Unleashed

Get Jedi Temple mission for just 400 MS Points

Lucasarts have announced a new edition of ‘the fastest selling Star Wars game of all time, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

This new bumper pack of Force related shenanigans brings two new levels based on the Star Wars Infinities non canon spin off.  In this alternate storyline our anti-hero the Apprentice has taken Vader’s place by the Emperor’s side (or is it Sir Alan Sugar’s?) and is going around duffin’ up Jedis and being a right nasty piece of work.

The first level takes Mr Starkiller (seriously, with a name like that how could he have grown up to be anything other than a baddie) to Tatooine where he’ll be having a right argy bargy with Obi Wan Kenobi and Boba Fett.  The second level has him putting his Ugg boots on for a trip to Hoth to give Luke Skywalker a knuckle sandwich.

The Tatooine level will also be released as a seperate paid downloadable content on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 but fans wishing to duke it out on Hoth will have to buy the physical game.

As a nice bonus for people experiencing The Force Unleashed for the first time, this new edition will include all previous downloadable content like the Jedi Temple mission (which coincidently is available for only 400 Microsoft Points this week) and the alternative costume packs.  Chumps like me who bought the game when it first came out will have to stump up the cash again for content they already have for just one extra level.

Star Wars The Force Unleased: The Ultimate Sith Edition (or SWTFUTUSE to his friends) is touted for an autumn release on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC and Mac.  No price information is available yet.

Yeah I’m one of the chumps who bought this day of release, however I only bought the PS2 version so I may fork out and get the PC version when the price drops a bit.

Also, the name Starkiller while being rather badass is actually a reference to the pre-release media material surrounding A New Hope in which Luke was called “Luke Starkiller”. I’m guessing they changed it because it sounds better as a bad guy name and also a guy named Starkiller blowing up the Death Star, cheese much?

Star Wars geekery over.
