The Orange exclusive LG Touchscreen Watch Phone, one of the most eagerly anticipated phones in years, will finally arrive on our shores next month – two months ahead of schedule.

Boasting a compact and stylish design, the LG G910 comes with a Bluetooth headset, in-built touchscreen interface and 3G+ technology.

Video calling is also available, while a voice recognition feature makes it easier to place calls and look up contacts. Text to Speech (TTS) will also read text messages out loud.

LG has even used materials and designs similar to those used by top watch manufacturers to ensure it’s a comfortable fit.

One thing that budding secret agents won’t find so comfortable is the price tag. Available for a limited time on Pay as You Go, the LG G910 is expected to cost a whopping £1,000! Orange have yet to confirm any Pay Monthly details, but the device is predicted to cost around £500 on a £40 per month, 24 month contract.

Tom Alexander, Orange CEO, said: “The Watch Phone is the must have gadget of 2009. It’s handcrafted and will turn heads on the high street.”

Must have or must remortgage? You decide.

In other news, Samsung are to follow LG by releasing their own Watch Phone.

The Samsung S9110 will offer a 4.5 cm touchscreen, MP3 player and Bluetooth, all nicely rounded off by a metal body and leather strap.

Like LG’s Watch Phone, it will also convey voice calls and Outlook e-mail via speakerphone.

The catch? Britain won’t be getting it. At least not yet. Soon to be released in France, the handset, which costs 450 euros (around £390) may appear on these shores if sales go well in the rest of Europe.
