Dual Screen Laptop Coming
I'm seeing double
Alaskan based company GScreen has been working on a very special laptop. Aimed at designers, photographers, architects and other creative types, the Spacebook is due to launch at the end of this year.
Gordon Stewart, the owner, plans to make the Spacebook available through Amazon by December and has told Gizmodo that the final price will hopefully be set at around $3,000 (approx £1840).
Touted as “the opposite of a netbook” the Spacebook will run on Windows 7 and will be packed with tantalising high spec goodies. These include 4GB of RAM, a 7,200 RPM hard drive, DVD player and will be powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processors. Graphics are the raison d’etre of this laptop and so the Spacebook will pack a GF900M GT graphics card from NVIDIA.
The most exciting thing about this model will be its dual screen. The main screen will be 15.4” in the final model, with a second identical screen that can be rolled out from behind using a unique sliding mechanism.
“We designed this knowing that many may not need the extra screen at all times, but when you do use both screens you’ll get about 30-inches of screen space.”
Here are some of the very first pictures…

What the dickens….lol Not the kinda thing you could take to the park, or say on the train or bus. Still, nice idea.
