Revealed – The Acer Ferrari One
The new netbook is not going to be cheap
Acer, which is keen to stamp its authority over the netbook market, has unveiled a shiny new ultra portable model sporting the familiar prancing horse logo. Acer is a sponsor of Ferarri’s F1 endeavours, and seems to be using its association with the brand to borrow some of Ferrari’s reputation as a luxury brand; the new netbook is not going to be cheap.
The Acer Ferrari One has an 11.6 inch display with 1,366 x 768 resolution. Instead of the Intel Atom CPU that we’re used to seeing in the Aspire One series, this new offering has an AMD Congo platform under the cover. This is a positive, given that the Yukon system was less than impressive.
Other specs include a 1.2GHz dual-core Athalon X2 L310 processor and Radeon Hc 3200 series graphics, 1GB of RAM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, Dolby Home Theatre and a six cell battery with 5600 mAh of Power, said to give up to five hours of battery life.
The Acer Ferrari One will be available from October the 22nd at a price of around £440.

hehe, Esther – I would hope that it comes with a little more than 1MB of RAM! apart from that, it sounds pretty good for a netbook – do you suppose they will produce a machine with the same spec but without the cheesy ferrari branding in the near future as well?
