Spotted on Dynamism – The Viliv S7
An Ultra Mobile PC-cum-touchscreen-tablet
The Ultra Mobile PC market is hotting up. Dynamism has posted a description and a list of tech specs for the Viliv S7, a Touchscreen Netbook tablet hybrid that claims to be all things to all people.
The Viliv S7 is seeking to occupy the gap between smartphone and netbook, to give a truly portable but comprehensive internet experience, or “Mobility tablet” as they would have it.
The device features a swiveling screen that can either be used like a conventional netbook or else flipped round, folded flat and used like a touchscreen tablet. While this may be small at just 7 inches, the priority of the S7 seems to be portability; it only weighs 800 grams. It also has 3G connectivity and a small touch pad, though there’s also an on-screen virtual keyboard.
The unit will run Windows XP, has a customisable user interface named “Villiv Shuffle”. The system for transferring files from other PCs is simple, and no more difficult that connecting a USB cable and running some file manager software.
The battery life is said to be up to 9.5 hours in ideal conditions, but a little less when using 3G, Wi-Fi and other battery draining activities. The innards and tech specs are as follows:
