Who would have thought ten years ago that our important documentation, data and naughty photos would be held on a device the size of a Pez dispenser?

Well, we are an unsatisfied lot aren’t we? The likelihood of a Home Office minister leaving a flash drive keyring on public transport after taking it out to relieve inevitable groin interruption, has grown alongside our technobsessive ambition to make things ever-smaller.

Verbatim’s answer: a memory stick which has shrunk from dispenser size to that of the sweet itself.

All this talk of Pez makes it sound like quite a delicious addition to your keyring which it is. It’s much less of a hassle to your familiars when you sit down, fits inconspicuously next to the other keys to your life and is much less a risk of theft and loss.

Why not start with the rather fetching bright green tab with a 4GB memory. It really is the size and weight of a SIM card and much more stable on your keys than a big ol’ flash drive. It fits straight into the USB port and is instantly portable as you’re not going to forget your keys dangling from your desktop are you? Unless you’re a Government official, obviously.

Whilst not exactly momentous in size, the old flash drive is at least 50 times the size of this dinky little trinket and it’s worth trading in, if only to enhance your keyrings a tad.

They come in various fruity, sweetie-like colours indicating cost and the different memory capacity. They run much less a risk of loss should it be securely fasted to your house keys and co; not only that, it’s so inconspicuous it doesn’t lend itself to theft.

Who’d know what it is? Even if you lost it, the chances of someone picking it up and being able to view your secret home vids is minimal, it’d get kicked away in an instant.

Fasten it to a keyring and the chance of loss or theft is minimal. For that reason, compared with the bulky old flash drive in the pocket, all of your particulars are safer from harm.
