PS3 to get PS2 & Dreamcast Games?
According to leaked document
According to a leaked Sega of America document, there’s some very good news on the horizon for PS3 owners.
The document, purportedly the minutes of a Sega strategy meeting, was uncovered by French gaming site Objectif-Sega, and hints in no uncertain terms that the PSN will soon be home to ports of both PS2 and Dreamcast games.
“SCEA [Sony Computer Entertainment America] wants to sell all PS2 titles on PSN,” according to the leaked document – which might incense gamers who believe the PS3 should have been fully backwards-compatible from launch, but is no less exciting for that. The PS2 has one of the most impressively diverse libraries in console history, and allowing PS3 owners to download ports can only be a good thing for gamers.
The document goes on to mention Dreamcast ports, and hints that DC titles might not just be limited to the PSN: “If we provide a list of DC titles SCEA will let us know which ones they’re interested in having exclusively.” Does this indicate that some DC games will be ported to the VC and XBLA? We’ll keep you posted. Meanwhile, why not check out our list of the top Dreamcast games?
