HMV Quick to Dispel MW2 Rumours
HMV COD rumours were rubbish
A spokesman for high-street retailer HMV has released a statement quashing concerns that they had broken the street date for the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
E-mails sent to customers who pre-ordered the eagerly awaited sequel informed them that the dispatch process had begun. However the following statement to Eurogamer has quietened concerns of a much-desired for early release:
“Some customers may have received an email alert suggesting that the dispatch process is under way, but the stock has not yet been sent.“HMV would never knowingly break a street date.”
Fulfilling orders will obviously be a major undertaking, and in order to implement this in a timely manner, we have had to initiate the transaction process to begin printing off address labels. This has triggered the email alert, but stock has not been shipped.”
Whilst this is good news for the other high-street retailers it does unfortunately mean that those of us itching to get to grips with Infinity Ward’s latest offering will have to wait until the game is released on Tuesday November 10th

HMV may not have broken the street date…but Asda online and The Hut have! Good friends have and are already playing their PS3 copies.
